Puerto de la Cruz is one of Tenerife’s most popular resorts, and unlike the majority of the island’s hotspots, is located in the north. It is a quiet town, and although there’s as much nightlife as there is during the day, it isn’t quite as rowdy as the south of the island. Here you’ll find excellent hotels and apartments throughout the town, as well as incredible volcanic sand beaches, which together with the Costa Martianez swimming pools form an idyllic spot for anyone looking to enjoy the island’s climate. Its old town is beautiful, and its streets, squares, parks, and avenues tell the story of a town that you shouldn’t miss.

Places of interest in Puerto de la Cruz

One of the highlights of Puerto de la Cruz has to be Costa Martianez– an impressive seawater pool complex, which is home to the town’s casino and at night becomes an excellent place to go out for something to eat. One of the main shopping streets in the town is Calle de La Hoya, which is behind the Paseo de San Telmo, which is also the town’s main nightlife strip. You’ll find bars, pubs, and nightclubs for all tastes. Also, Costa Martianez is open at night, and apart from the Casino, lots of the bars have terraces next to the pools. You’ll find everything you need in the city, including some great restaurants serving all types of food. And although you have everything you in Puerto de la Cruz, it’s always recommended to rent a car to be able to move around freely and discover other corners of Tenerife, like the picturesque villages in the north, Punta de Teno, and the Teide National Park, among many more.
