Tenerife’s beaches are bathed in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, which offers an average annual temperature of 21°C and moderate waves. The beaches run around most of the island’s coastline. In the south of the island, you’ll find lively, urban beaches with lots of people, while in the north you’ll discover much calmer, wild volcanic sand beaches.
The Blue Flag flies above many of Tenerife’s beaches, which prizes the quality of its waters, its environmental management, and the safety and services that they offer.
