A stately atmosphere, colonial architecture and a traditional essence – this is La Orotava. It’s a region where beauty is a guarantee, nestled in an impressive and immense valley in the north of Tenerife.
Villa de La Orotava is the municipality’s capital and is one of the most beautiful and best conserved old towns in the Canary Islands. Its narrow streets create a wonderful maze full of history and culture, under a perfect climate and in the shadow of the looming Mount Teide.
Practically all of the region is surrounded by the enormous Corona Forestal (Forest) in the Mount Teide Natural Park. This makes it one of Tenerife’s lungs, with fresh air and no lack of natural charm. You can get lost in the forest on any one of the incredible trails scattered throughout the municipality. Meanwhile on the coast you’ll find wonderful calm wild volcanic sand beaches.
