{"id":95,"date":"2019-09-28T23:36:23","date_gmt":"2019-09-28T22:36:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gotenerife.net\/en\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=95"},"modified":"2022-03-26T21:26:49","modified_gmt":"2022-03-26T21:26:49","slug":"convent-of-san-francisco","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/gotenerife.net\/en\/explore\/convent-of-san-francisco\/","title":{"rendered":"Convent of San Francisco"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Convent of San Francisco<\/strong> (<em>Convento de San Francisco<\/em>) is in the <a href=\"https:\/\/gotenerife.net\/en\/north-tenerife\/\">north of Tenerife<\/a>, in <a href=\"https:\/\/gotenerife.net\/en\/explore\/villa-de-garachico\/\">Garachico<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It is a former convent, which now serves as a House of Culture with a small museum, a library, and a municipal archive. It hosts various exhibitions as well as cultural and artistic performances.<\/p><div id=\"goten-1478729537\" class=\"goten-content_2 goten-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-0088719563045673\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0088719563045673\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>The building has significant historical and architectural value, built in 1524 by the Seraphic order and is situated in a beautiful setting, right in the old town.<\/p>\n<h2>Architecture<\/h2>\n<p>Architecturally, the Church consists of a single Latin cross nave with different chapels spread throughout. On its main fa\u00e7ade, bathed in a soft yellow and shaded by huge palm trees, is the entrance to the church \u2013 two huge wooden doors lined with dark stone sat above a small staircase.<\/p>\n<p>The church tower is formed of black masonry, except for its highest point, the bell tower, which is covered in white.<\/p>\n<p>On the ground floor, it has different rooms, all of which are now used for its cultural purpose.
