{"id":83,"date":"2019-09-14T01:29:06","date_gmt":"2019-09-14T00:29:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gotenerife.net\/en\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=83"},"modified":"2022-02-01T21:47:35","modified_gmt":"2022-02-01T21:47:35","slug":"victoria-gardens","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/gotenerife.net\/en\/explore\/victoria-gardens\/","title":{"rendered":"Victoria Gardens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Victoria Gardens<\/strong> (<em>Jardines Victoria<\/em>) are in La Orotava, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/gotenerife.net\/en\/north-tenerife\/\">north of Tenerife<\/a>, and are the works of the French artist Adolph Coquet.<\/p>\n<p>They were inaugurated in the 19<sup>th<\/sup> Century, and two centuries later they have become a symbol of La Orotava, perfectly combining with the stately atmosphere that characterises the town.<\/p><div id=\"goten-363346194\" class=\"goten-content_2 goten-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-0088719563045673\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0088719563045673\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<h2>A bit of history<\/h2>\n<p>The Gardens have an <strong>aristocratic background<\/strong> as they were created on the orders of the De Ponte family to bury the body of the Marquis of Quinta Roja, after the Catholic Church denied him a Christian funeral due to his links to Freemasonry. In the end, the Marquis did have a Christian funeral, but the Gardens have remained to embellish the north of the island.<\/p>\n<p>They are tiered gardens that offer an impressive panorama of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gotenerife.net\/en\/explore\/villa-la-orotava\/\">Villa de La Orotava<\/a>.
