It was inaugurated in the mid-16th Century but has since been reformed several times in the following centuries. It has historical relevance, as it is the parish church of <strong>San Cristobal de La Laguna<\/strong> and Tenerife, meaning that many of Tenerife\u2019s churches have originated from it.<\/p>\n<p>It rises above the <em>Plaza de la Concepci\u00f3n<\/em> in the old town of La Laguna. Standing out is its famous bell tower, built in masonry and topped with a cupola. You can also climb up the bell tower from inside the church.<\/p><div id=\"goten-2222168339\" class=\"goten-content_2 goten-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-0088719563045673\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0088719563045673\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Sacred Art<\/h2>\n<p>Inside the church you can find numerous works of <strong>sacred art from the Canary Islands<\/strong>, with works by artists from the archipielago such as Fernando Est\u00e9vez, Luj\u00e1n P\u00e9rez or Crist\u00f3bal Hern\u00e1ndez de Quintana.<\/p>\n<p>Among the altars, the highlights are the Main Altar and the Chapel of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception, with wonderful tableaus, such as <em>La Piedad<\/em> and the <em>Sagrada Familia<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2><em>Fiestas de la Concepci\u00f3n<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>During Decemeber, the Festival of the Immaculate Conception takes place, when there are various events in the church and the city of <a href=\"https:\/\/gotenerife.net\/en\/explore\/historical-centre-la-laguna\/\">San Cristobal de La Laguna<\/a>.
