{"id":598,"date":"2021-09-13T18:33:52","date_gmt":"2021-09-13T17:33:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gotenerife.net\/en\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=598"},"modified":"2021-09-13T18:33:52","modified_gmt":"2021-09-13T17:33:52","slug":"apostol-santiago-church","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/gotenerife.net\/en\/explore\/apostol-santiago-church\/","title":{"rendered":"Ap\u00f3stol Santiago Church"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <b>Iglesia del Ap\u00f3stol Santiago <\/b>(<em>Ap\u00f3stol Santiago Church<\/em>) is found in <a href=\"https:\/\/gotenerife.net\/en\/explore\/los-realejos\/\">Los Realejos<\/a> and is part of a Historical site of cultural heritage known as <strong>Realejo Bajo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It is one of the first sites of religious worship built in <a href=\"https:\/\/gotenerife.net\/en\/\">Tenerife<\/a> after the European conquest around 1496. It is likely that the church was built by the conquerors in gratitude for their victory in battle, and it should be considered part of their evangelical framework. This is where the pre-Hispanic kings would have been baptised up until their surrender to the Castilian forces.<\/p><div id=\"goten-663652552\" class=\"goten-content_2 goten-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-0088719563045673\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0088719563045673\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>Its story began as a small and simple place of Divine Worship, which continued to grow over the centuries to how it looks today.<\/p>\n<h2>Sacred Art<\/h2>\n<p>The interior of the <em>Ap\u00f3stol Santiago Church<\/em> holds genuine treasures of the Canary Islands\u2019 cultural and artistic heritage.
