{"id":497,"date":"2021-05-02T18:11:47","date_gmt":"2021-05-02T17:11:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gotenerife.net\/en\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=497"},"modified":"2022-03-06T21:04:14","modified_gmt":"2022-03-06T21:04:14","slug":"barranco-de-ruiz","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/gotenerife.net\/en\/explore\/barranco-de-ruiz\/","title":{"rendered":"Barranco de Ruiz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Barranco de Ruiz<\/strong> is a natural area covering over 95 hectares in the <a href=\"https:\/\/gotenerife.net\/en\/north-tenerife\/\">north of Tenerife<\/a>, spreading over the municipalities of San Juan de la Rambla and <a href=\"https:\/\/gotenerife.net\/en\/listing-region\/los-realejos\/\">Los Realejos<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The area has been designated a <em>Site of Cultural Interest<\/em>, due to the large number of species living side-by-side, especially endemic flora and fauna, such as the ecosystem that transitions from <em>tabaibal-cardonal<\/em> heathland to laurel forest.<\/p><div id=\"goten-456859042\" class=\"goten-content_2 goten-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-0088719563045673\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0088719563045673\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Barranco de Ruiz Recreational Area<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>Recreational Area<\/strong> is open all year round, and has picnic tables, a children\u2019s play area, BBQs and restrooms. It is situated on the final section of the area known as the <strong>Protected Landscape of Los Campeches, Tigaiga and Ruiz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The location is popular for the fantastic views that it offers over this landscape. It\u2019s an ideal setting to spend a special day in this part of the island, whether you bring your own food or eat in one of the many restaurants that specialise in traditional Canarian food in the area.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll also find the starting point for various hiking trails here, which climb into the <em>Barranco de Ruiz<\/em> and lead you towards the coast.<\/p>\n<h2>How to get there<\/h2>\n<p>To get to the Barranco de Ru\u00edz Recreational Area, you will need to take the <strong>TF-5<\/strong>, a highway that connects Santa Cruz with Puerto de la Cruz, and then come off around kilometre 44 towards Icod de los Vinos.
