Tacoronte is a municipality with a countryside feel and stretches from the mountains to the coast. Inside you’ll find old county houses, stately buildings and a lovely traditional charm. It is in the north of Tenerife.
It is a few minutes from the island’s capital, Santa Cruz, and from the city of San Cristobal de La Laguna. Tacoronte is the perfect place for a breath of fresh air and is a corner of the island with fantastic restaurants that are known for their Canarian cuisine.
It is a land of vineyards, so is popular for its fantastic wines, and the proud holder of the Tacoronte-Acentajo designation of origin. It has a fantastic coastline, along which the highlights include Mesa del Mar and El Pris, as well as the forested areas like the Agua García Forest. The town centre has been declared a Site of Cultural Heritage in the Historical Site category thanks to the quality of its architectural heritage.
