Garachico is a small and enchanting municipality in northern Tenerife, between the towns of El Tanque, Los Silos and Icod de los Vinos. The municipality’s capital is Villa de Garachico, which is one of the most beautiful and best conserved old towns in Tenerife. The municipality is home to – partially or totally – natural areas like the Acantaliados de La Culata Protected Area, the Chinyero Special Natural Reserve and the Roque de Garachico Natural Monument. Its coast faces to the North and is the result of aggressive volcanic activity which has moulded it to create a peppering of fantastic natural pools.
